Hibernating

Some frogs burrow underground.
I crawled out from under the covers.
( make sure to note how benevolent and princely I am coming out from my nice cozy place to give you this update on my latest travels and post a some pictures.)

This last time I've gone visiting my bookmobiles very own Senior bookmobile at one of its stops. The Senior book bank is the bus were one of our librarians keeps stocked books, movies, CDs, etc. especially chosen for patrons along her bookmobiles route. (She carfully selects books and etc. she knows her patrons will be interested in and keeps a general idea of those they have already read so she can change it with something new for the next time the bus stops by. I'll have to ask her if she can help me find a good book on kingdoms and how to rule them. (I'll need to be prepared for that day I get my kiss)

Senior bookmobile is also the only bus with style
Note the handsomely posing green frog on the equally handsome green bookmobile.

They were rather busy when I hopped in ..

Here I am with Librarian T. Checking in returned items. We chat while I pass her a few books.
Me helping at the computers again. You won't believe how easy it is to type with webbed toes.
Patrons, smiles, getting new books and interesting movies it would otherwise be difficult to get out for. Driving to meet the needs of our community. <-- from preschool to senior. Now if only they'd make a stop near this pond, I know a couple of old toads who love to read. (and I here theres a princess who lives nearby. Maybe she's looking for an available frog to kiss)

That is all. I'm going back under a few dozen blankets and maybe a pillow. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year bookworms.
Frog.

P.S.
Jem: sorry about the strange camera angles. Frog said he wanted you to get the frogs eye view of things. Merry Christmas ^_^

We interrupt your regularly scheduled FrogBlog to bring you this hopping gratitude.. .

I would Like to give a leapin' thanks to the RAD board (Allegheny Regional Asset District) for continuing to fund the bookmobile and keeping a frog like me employed.
(click the pic for a hoppers view)

And now back to your frog.
I'm still traveling when I get the time.
Here I am the day I visited the West End Library

(Blogger Jem: Note the green splot on the book return)
I was worried when I found out some libraries are closing due to lack of funding and realized that if I wanted to visit them I had better get a jump on it.

A good spot to read
I could shelve this.

Hopping around.

I hopped into the Robinson Twp. Library this week. They forgot the red carpet but being the regal frog I am, I didn't say anything. I had the best view and saw first hand the diverse interest of the patrons and what books or videos they enjoyed.

It was great to see all the patronage and I did a little promoting while I was there.
Sadly I discovered that pieces of
paper lying on the table even with signs pointing at them are 90% of the time overlooked. In the end my blogger had to get involved. . .(she was a little reluctant at first (shy) but when I hinted there might be a treat at lunch time ... and mention I had brought my best jar of flys she got a little more involved)
(Note from Jem; I enjoyed helping out but kindly declined Frogs offer to share lunch.) :X

I also received a few recommendations from the Librarians

The Director Recommended
"In Sunlight in a Beautiful Garden" by Kathleen Cambor
A story about the Johnstown flood. Detailing events (foolish and ignorant) that lead up to its assurance.
She commented that: it was kind of tough sledding in the beginning but I really enjoyed it in the end."

Circulation clerk K said for a good Christmas book (it is the season) Glenn Beck's "The Christmas Sweater"
Her comment; It's excellent!

and
Cataloger M (a.k.a. mystery lady in the back room)
recommended "The youngest Templar series." Her only warning is to watch out for the killer cliff hanger at the end of the first book.

I enjoyed my visit I think I will try hopping to another library.

It already the holiday season! Hmmm home made fly pie.

Not in my job description

What with budget cuts for libraries and co-workers being sick I volunteered to take on some extra work.
I was ready to dive right in until they asked me to help with shelving. . .

who's idea was it to put the atlas on the top shelf?. . .Who checks out an atlas?!

Next, I jumped onto a computer... Literally.

I found my true calling when I hopped on the bookmobile to help out.

oops. Quick somebody turn me around!!

. . .Don't worry Chuck, I'm pretty sure that lady's Prius was supposed to look like that.
((What'do you mean that was a Suburban??))

I wonder how many flies I'll get for overtime?

Fly drive

A good Read
I was hopping through the shelves the other day and I bumped into this book.
"Frog Went A-Courtin"
By John Langstaff

The verse was sweet and simple, the hero dashing and damp.
(Hey! Damp is stylish for a frog).
For a quick read I would highly recommend you leap into this book.

also,

Not to long ago I held a drive to help those less fortunate.

All my co-workers pitched in and the response was surprisingly good.

tasty too.
Frog.

Hello, I am Frog.

I work at a bookmobile. I don’t work on the bus but at the bookmobile center (where the books are kept.) My job is pretty straight forward. I keep the fly population down. I have a P.H.D. (Perfectly Healthy Diet) and A.E.R. (Amphibians Eat Right) in Fly catching. People don’t understand the intricacies involved in how hard I work. I have on occasion heard things like “There are no flys in here.” and “What does that lazy frog do anyway?” I am sadly underappreciated. . .But well fed.
Frog.
